This chapter provides detailed element tables for each message used in the Prior Authorization (PA) transaction set. These tables define the structure, usage, and requirement designation for each element within the message, including whether an element is mandatory, conditional, recommended, or optional, as well as any applicable Surescripts business rules.

Each message is presented in a separate section to support modular review and implementation. The element tables are intended to be used in conjunction with the applicable schema and this Companion Guide to ensure accurate construction and processing of Native PA transactions.
