Health Systems / Learning Directory
This workflow is for health systems and EHR vendors using Learning Directory that do not know providers’ secondary practice locations.
Note: If your Change of Vendor includes five or fewer providers, you do not need to request a Provider Record Report (PRR). Instead, go to Case Management, select the Directories Case Category Type, and enter Learning Directory COV as the subject. Include each provider's NPI, secondary location addresses, active start date, and legacy vendor SPIs (if known) in the description.
You will still need to register providers at their primary practice location.
- Open a support case 40-60 days before the active start date.
Attach the completed Provider Record Report (PRR) template to your case.
- Receive your PRR at least 40 days before the active start date.
Surescripts Support will generate and return a PRR for you to work from.
- Register primary locations 7–30 days before the active start date.
Register providers at their primary practice location.
- Flag secondary locations at least 10 days before the active start date.
Flag secondary practice locations on the PRR (these will become learned) and return it to Surescripts Support.
- Begin using your system.
Have providers begin sending NewRx messages from your system on their active start date.
Result:
- Rerouting to primary locations begins after the first NewRx is sent from any provider in the group with the same active start date.
- Rerouting to secondary locations begins after they are learned by Surescripts.
