user interface (ui) options due to the customizable nature of the electronic prior authorization accelerator, the screens shown in this guide may differ from individual customer’s implementations of the web application the use of available web service apis may also affect how users view individual processes and process details users may have to adjust their workflow to accommodate these potential differences items that are configurable include navigation bar web application fonts web application color scheme roles and access roles and access levels are assigned to users by a combination of provider and/or patient specific details included in the token request this section details the various roles and levels of access available this is controlled by the ehr, which invokes the electronic prior authorization accelerator and is determined at launch for the user’s entire session users can be assigned multiple roles and, as such, may have different options available for different tasks/processes user roles can also differ per spi if there are concerns regarding access to specific options within a task/process, please contact your ehr support to determine the access level that was given pa submitter the pa submitter role has the highest level of task/process actions available this user can respond to question sets, submit them, and acknowledge pbm approvals, denials, or closed epas pa submitters may also cancel an "in progress" epa or submit electronic appeals (for epas that support eappeals) pa preparer the pa preparer role has the same access as the pa submitter but is unable to submit question set responses or appeals the pa preparer can acknowledge approvals, denials, or closed epas as well as cancel an "in progress" epa or start the appeal process pa reviewer the pa reviewer role has limited access and can only view tasks/processes that they have been authorized to view the pa reviewer cannot answer question sets, acknowledge responses, start an appeal, or cancel an "in progress" epa
