Implementation Readiness Checklist
Use this checklist to confirm your implementation covers the core capabilities described in this guide before certification. It summarizes requirements and expectations detailed elsewhere; the referenced sections are authoritative.
Establish outbound XDR connectivity to Surescripts using mutual TLS (Connectivity and Mutual TLS (mTLS)).
Receive inbound XDR messages and DSNs, and return valid synchronous Provide and Register Document Set-b responses (Sending Flow Overview, Sending the Message Response).
Construct XDR messages with the required addressing, metadata, and attachments (Sending XDR Messages to Surescripts ).
Track delivery status independently from the synchronous response, using DSNs as the signal of final delivery (Delivery Status Notification (DSN), Delivery Status Notifications).
Process multiple DSNs for multi-recipient messages, including mixed outcomes (Multiple Recipients, Message Structure).
Publish and maintain your Direct addresses in the Surescripts Directory, and support sending to valid addresses that are not listed (Receiving Flow Overview, Directory Management).
Distinguish SOAP faults from XDR application-level errors, and produce well-formed error responses (Error Management).
Support the required attachment handling, including display/download and removed-attachment notification (Clinical Attachments, ACR C.205).
